Thriving nightlife
Due to busy work and class schedules, Koreans have more downtime in the evenings and nights. Parents work late, kids go home from school late, and they never get a moment to enjoy each other’s company until after the sun goes down.
That’s why you’ll see moms, dads, and young children walking the city streets until the late hours of the night. It’s not uncommon to find parents pushing a stroller or walking hand-in-hand with an elementary-grade child at around 11 PM. Svetlana learned this the hard way when she realized her husband always came home after the sun set.
