Pregnancy privileges
South Korea had the lowest fertility rate in the world in 2019. So, when a woman is pregnant, the local government wants them to know that they’re the most important person in the country. Expecting mothers are spoiled with priority seats on subways and trains and special color-coded parking spots. Plus, other passengers in public transport will go out of their way to make the woman feel comfy.
Best of all, if you’re pregnant, the government will issue a $500 gift card that you can use on mediation and treatment. You can also apply for a “childbirth subsidy,” where you’ll receive up to $1,100 for every child up to your third kid.
