A new way of welcoming the New Year
Celebrating the New Year in South Korea isn’t all that different from how we do it here, though there are slight variations. Families get together and wish for the best 12 months ahead. They’ll also talk about their ancestors, where they came from, and how they got to where they are now.
In addition to reminiscing about the past, moms and dads buy gifts for their children. They hold nothing back to find the perfect gift that their children will love. Svetlana jokingly said the more children a family has, the broker they become. That probably makes the first month of the New Year pretty difficult for young families.
