Even the doctors are in a hurry
Everything in South Korea is about efficiency, even their healthcare. According to Svetlana, a doctor will see you for only a couple of minutes, regardless of how quiet the hospital waiting room is. It’s not that they don’t like you, but they want you in and out as soon as possible, what with the high infection rate in hospitals and whatnot.
Also, to avoid inefficiencies, nearly everything in hospitals is digitized, from forms to payment. Speaking of payment, Svetlana claims that she only has to spend about $13 per visit, thanks to the government-mandated insurance program for all permanent residents.
