Brief vacations
Here’s something that might interest you about South Korean culture. Apparently, people take super-brief vacations. By super-brief, Svetlana means that her husband would take 1-1/2 days off of work to spend leisure time with the family. If you’re wondering what her husband did in the other half of the second day, he was right back in the office.
On average, South Korean employees get two weeks of paid vacation every year. However, they’re not allowed to use them all at once. This means they have to break up their 14-day-long vacation into several micro vacations. According to Svetlana, a family would only spend up to five days in Europe before hopping on a plane back to South Korea.
