Not many people want children
Even though there is a pretty decent number of children in South Korea, the reality is that many people don’t want to have kids. And those that do typically wait until they’re at least 32 to do so. It’s not that they dislike kids or anything like that, but raising a kid in South Korea is expensive.
Apart from the normal expenses like diapers, doctor visits, and clothing, families in South Korea also have to set away a healthy chunk of money to pay for their kids’ schooling. Svetlana said to enroll her kids in kindergarten, she had to pay $500 in monthly tuition per child.
