Prepare to Hear the Islamic Call to Prayer 5 Times a Day
This is something that you’ll have to accept while living in a Muslim-majority country. The Adzan, or the call to prayer, is played five times a day. This includes the early-morning call before the sun rises, which can be a surprise to those who have no prior experience.
Now, please note that this call to prayer is not mandatory for non-Muslims. If you don’t heed the call, nobody will (or should) blame you. On a high note, every time the call rings, you can drop whatever you’re doing and enjoy some much-needed leisure in the scorching-hot desert city. During Ramadan—the holiest month in the Islamic calendar—you’ll probably hear more mosques blaring their calls than usual.
