Swiss watch brand TAG Heuer and sport Wear manufacturing company Nike have terminate their contract with Maria Sharapova after she had failed a drug test at the Australian Open in January. The ITF said it had suspended Ms Sharapova with effect Saturday March 12, pending “determination” of the case.
The penalty for such offence according to the ITF guidelines attracts a four-year suspension in the event of a positive test and for first-time offences or if the player bears no fault or negligence.
