Brommapojkarna Football club of Sweden lost its captain Pontus Segerström. The 33 years old was diagnosed with cerebral tumor in August.
The club president, Ola Danhard, issued a statement saying- “it is incredibly tragic, he was such a man who enjoys the respect of everyone.
Segerström started feeling pains in the head and needed medical attention, he was later diagnosed with cerebral tumor.
“For about two months he was okay, and now he’s no longer here”, added Danhard.
The defender has played 14 matches in Swedish league with his club this season.
His last match was Europa league qualifier against Italian side Torino, on July 31.
Segerström arrived at Brommapojkarna at a very tender age, and thus played for other clubs
Landskrona Bols of Sweden, Odense BK of Denmark, and Stabaek FC where he won the league in 2008.
