Super eagles coach did his last job as the head coach of the Nigerian national team on Wednesday 15 of October. He was shown the door today by the management of Nigerian Football, with his technical crew Daniel Amokachi and Ike Shorunmu.
The decision was said to be in the best interest of Nigeria football. Keshi has struggled to live up to expectation lately, gaining 4 points out of 4 matches to the detriment of Nigeria’s qualification to the African nation’s tournament. Losing 2-1 to Sudan in Khartoum was a height of embarrassment to the team and Nigeria as a whole.
The Nigerian football body has struggled to put up with Keshi since after the world cup in Brazil. It seems they’ve had enough and called it a day with the 53 year old.
Attitude has been pointed as the reason why the Big Boss was kicked out. He is said to have allowed his ego to influence his judgement, ignoring the opinion of the technical committee on the team’s management.
Keshi’s Super Eagles have seen their worst form ever since he took over as coach. The Brilliant performance that brought the African nation’s trophy to Nigerian soil departed so soon.
The Nigerian fans have also expressed their disappointment, asking Keshi to go. “It’s such a shame that the defending African champions are struggling to qualify” a fan noted.
Nigerian Football Federation has taken a measure of the blame. The inconsistencies in their football management has been seen as distraction to the coaching crew.
Meanwhile, Amodu Shuaibu has been giving the chance to lead the team through the remaining qualifier matches
