Neymar And Father Charged Over Tax Evasion And Forgery Of Documents In Brazil

February 3, 2016 by Kelly Davies Leave a Comment

Neymar and his father, Barcelona President Josep Maria Bartomeu and his predecessor Sandro Rosell has been charged over tax evasion and forgery of documents in Brazil. Government prosecutors want the Barcelona player to be investigated over four charges of fraud.

They claimed Neymar and his father Neymar da Silva Santos, set up companies as fronts in oder to pay lower rate. The player should have been taxed at the rate of a private individual was channeled into these companies and subject to a lower rate.

The prosecution claims that the Brazilian state was, in this way, cheated out of 55 per cent of the money which should have been paid. The allegations against the Barcelona striker cover a seven-year period from 2006.
