The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that Morocco will not host the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations and has now been disqualified from the competition.
This is coming as a result when the Morocco announced through it’s Sport Minister on Saturday that the country will not be hosting next year’s Africa cup of nations(AFCON) due to the outbreak of Ebola.
Morocco had earlier requested that the Africa cup of nations(AFCON) be postponed until June 2016 over the spread of Ebola especially in west Africa, but it was rejected by (CAF).
Morocco who has now pulled out in hosting next year’s Africa cup of nations finals and were also also expelled by CAF and will not feature in next years Africa cup of nations.
CAF will therefore be looking for new host nation for the next year Africa cup of nations.
Report suggested that some other Africa countries like south Africa, Ghana been both contacted by CAF but none have show interest in hosting the Africa cup of nations come 2015,country like Nigeria might be interested in hosting the Africa cup of nations.
Following the refusal of morocco to host next year Africa cup of nation, the executive has decided that morocco national team have been automatically disqualified and will not take part in the 30th edition of the orange Africa cup of nations in 2015.
The Africa cup of nations is due to kick off on 17th January and run through to February 8.
