Cristiano Ronaldo wins Golden Boot for the third in his career, although this time he shared with Barca Luis Suarez. The Portugal's Real Madrid player received the award from Florentino Perez who has led the white expedition of Ronaldo's teammates Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos and Gareth Bale.
Cristiano Ronaldo's mother and his son were not there. Director General of Sports, Ana Muñoz was the institutional representation.
Florentino Perez, gave the trophy to Cristiano Ronaldo and praised his player to the point of saying: "you are the worthy successor of Di Stéfano." The Whites president said " Cristiano is the best player in the world" and praised the staff and the entire team for their efforts.
But he advised Ronaldo, "as the best in the world, you should not allow the compliment to weaken your dedication but should give your best to fulfill the dreams of all Real Madrid fans."
Cristiano Ronaldo admitted that "not many people had expected this" and immediately thanked his teammates, his family, the fans and the club for having always supported.
The player, though, acknowledged that "what matters is the collective awards, but I really like this individual awards and work well for them." Christian concluded saying "this Golden Boot is like the first. It's a special day."
