From the American Revolution, through the Civil War, to the Industrial Revolution, America has seen more vicissitudes than almost any other country in the world, and it developed accordingly. New York, Boston, and Philadelphia were among the first American cities to be populated, followed by Los Angeles, Chicago, and Miami. The Big Apple, the City of Angels and the Wind City have all grown over time to become highly attractive spots for both American citizens and tourists.

One of the most well-known bridges in the world, the Brooklyn Bridge is a national and a New York City landmark. This photo captures the construction of the bridge during the mid 19th Century. The construction of the bridge, which connects the boroughs of Brooklyn and Manhattan, was completed in 1883 when it was originally named The New York and Brooklyn Bridge.
