The PDP ward congress, was on Monday marred by violence acts perpetrated by unruly members. Police intervention brought the congress to a premature closure, since the troubled session was quieted by police teargas and gunshots.
The PDP congress, which was meant to select delegates for the party's primaries ended unfulfilled. The congress is taking place in the wards 245 of the State.
The congress, has thus been rescheduled for the 24th of November. Meanwhile, some members of the party who were responsible for the commotion were arrested by the police.
It's another elective period when the ruling party is pledging violence-free exercise, it will be such a shame if their preliminaries are marred by violence.
Information gathered by Constative News suggests that the cause of the mayhem was as a result of disagreement over who should run and who should step down for the other. It is however not clear at this time who actually are those behind the violence.
