Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State has refuted a news report that he was planning to defect from the ruling People Democratic Party (PDP) to the Labour Party (LP) should he fail to secure the ticket of the party for the Benue North East senatorial zone presently occupied by Senator Barnabas Gemade.
Suswam was reacting to a speculation that the presidency had given automatic tickets to forty PDP senators in the country.
Governor Suswam who refuted claimsl yesterday through his Director of Media, Mr. James Uloko, after he was screened to contest the senatorial seat for Benue North-East district, posited that if the country was practising true democracy, then the issue of automatic ticket was at complete variance to the tenets of democracy.
He noted that President Jonathan as a true democrat would not indulge in such an act of granting automatic ticket to anyone, adding that he has undergone successful screening and is ready to go into the primaries against his opponent Sen. Barnabas Gemade

PDP and their waves, if is true that as Gov Suswam claim that Jonathan have given the ticket of senatorial seat for Benue North-
East district to someone already then Presido should be making a mistake that means that the primary for the senatorial seat for Benue North-
East district under PDP is non-competitative
