Governor Sullivan Chime, of Enugu State has halted his senatorial ambition. His decision was made known after a meeting with Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) executives.
There’s been ongoing tension between Enugu West Constituency Senator, Ike Ekweremadu, and the State Governor, over the PDP’s Senatorial slot.
The rift started when the outgoing governor expressed his intention to run for a seat in the upper house of the National Assembly.
Senator Ekweremadu, who started his Senatorial journey in 2003, wishes to keep his place come 2015. All seem to be well with the Enugu duo after a meeting with the party’s leadership.
Governor Chime, however, was compensated with other privileges which means, nominating other political candidates for PDP, which includes the Governorship flag bearer of the State.
With this arrangement in place, the scores is settled and the Governor is moving on with his new found role in exchange for Senate.
