Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State has been declared the winner of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP primary in the State.
The Governor won the primary unchallenged, being the sole contestant. The returning officer, Ndidi Okereke, announced the result saying:
A total of 222 votes were cast, Orji polled 221, one was cancelled. With the overwhelming victory, Governor Theodore Orji is ready to move to his next political office- upper house of the National Assembly.
He has thus expressed his delight in the overwhelming support he received from Abians, saying it was not his decision to run for a Senatorial office, but that of Abians, he is only responding to their request.
Governor Orji thus pledged to represent the people to their satisfaction if elected a senator in April. He urged Nigerians to imitate the conduct of the primary election that made him a winner.
