The Director of Media and Publicity of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Organisation, Femi Fani-Kayode has stated that Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State betrayed his own people in his failed quest to become the running mate to Gen. Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The controversial speaker also said he has no regrets dumping the APC because its members are "monsters and demons".
The ex-Aviation Minister was reacting to a recent statement by Amaechi who said he lacks credibility as a politician.
Angered by Amaechi's submission, Fani-Kayode said the governor should be thankful to the PDP for picking him from nowhere and made him a governor when he was wearing same cloth for three months.
In a programme monitored on AIT by DAILY POST on Tuesday, Fani-Kayode hinted that the PDP would, after winning the presidential election, return to its former leader, Olusegun Obasanjo and ask for forgiveness.
"Wait, who is talking about credibility here? he quipped.
"Is it Amaechi that was wearing same cloth for over three months or another one?
"This is the man that became a governor without winning any election; the same man that shut all the courts in his state for one year for fear of being impeached.
"People like Amaechi should be arrested and jailed for corruption."
Fani-kayode insisted that the APC was planning to rig the forthcoming election, adding that rigging was habitual with the opposition party.
"Yes, I can say that again because it is habitual with them.
"Their presidential candidate, Gen. Buhari had already threatened that if he loses this time around; the baboons and the dogs would be soaked in blood.
"It is on record, even he cannot deny that. This people want to take over power at all cost but that will never happen and if it does, will shall see what will happen after that. It is clear that Buhari, Amaechi, Tinubu and co have nothing to offer this country.
"We should forget that the Boko Haram once nominated APC presidential candidate, Buhari as their spokesperson or negotiator during the proposed peace talk with the insurgents. They nominated him because they have soft spot for him.
"This is a group that has killed thousands of innocent Nigerians. How would you accept such person as your president?
On why he dumped the APC for the ruling party, Fani-Kayode responded: "the question is, why is my own becoming an issue? The same Amaechi was in PDP before defecting to APC."
"Even Buhari, Tinubu and the rest were in other parties before forming APC. When I saw the monsters and demons in APC, I had to leave."
On the ongoing face-off between former president Olusegun Obasanjo and leadership of the PDP, Fani-Kayode said the ex-leader remains a father to other PDP members including president Jonathan.
"What I have to say is that Chief Obasanjo is a father to me, the president and the rest of us in PDP.
"I am of the opinion that he should remain with the house he built so it would stand strong. After winning presidential election, we'll still go back to him and beg him for forgiveness," he added.
