The court of appeal in Abuja, yesterday reserved its ruling on the suit to disqualify pressident Goodluck Jonathan from contesting in the 2015 presidential election.
A three man panel of justices which was chaired by Justice Abubakar Yahaya adjourned the matter even when the legal counsel of people’s democratic party PDP Mr Victor Kwon was seeking the dismissal of the case, saying it’s devoid of merit.
The ruling party has long maintained that there is nothing in the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria forbidding President Jonathan from contesting.
A member of PDP has Mr Cyriacus Njoku has appealed the ruling of Abuja high on March 1 2013, which declares the president eligible to contest.
It certainly appears that PDP has aggrieved some of her members who have presidential ambition by adopting president Jonathan as their sole contender for the 2015 presidential election.
Those who feel that their political ambition has tampered with by the decision of PDP like (Dr Umar Ardo of Adamawa State) have vowed to fight to the end.
