It can be difficult to imagine a time before your home was in danger or had been pillaged when you have lived there all of your life. But, as with any other type of conflict, when it comes to war, particularly on a continent like Europe, where almost everything is interconnected by land, this is generally what happens.
First and foremost, how these two photos have been submerged makes you feel as though you are experiencing two different eras. However, one of these periods was the clash of the Rhine in April 1945 during World War II.
