Feeling betrayed
It was apparent that their house in Charlestown, South Carolina, would have to be sold before they could relocate. They loved what they’d created together, but with age came a desire for a change of scenery. They decided that their Brentwood home would be put on the market and that they wouldn’t look back.
Another element that had a significant impact was the betrayal of her community. Many of those she thought were trustworthy in the region gave out her address to fans and photographers, resulting in a mass of people surrounding her 7,803-square-foot home on the lookout for a glimpse of the country music celebrity.
