A pleasant surprise

Obviously, she never carried twins before, and this wasn’t part of the plan; though in practice this was a blessed surprise, and there was no reason why it should change anything – but imagine being in that situation! The Liu’s were ecstatic about the news, however, and it somewhat alleviated Jessica’s concerns.
She was happy for the soon-to-be parents, as these treatments are extremely costly, and this meant that perhaps they wouldn’t need to go through this process again. Besides, having twins was good news not just for the Liu’s, but for Jessica as well: she was told her payment would increase for having two babies rather than one, and it was raised by $5,000.
