The Court of Appeal in Abuja has sacked Governor Nyesom Wike, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Rivers State. Earlier, on in October 24, the tribunal Court in Rivers State has ruled out Mr. Nyesom Wike’s election. This was as a result of the challenge of the All Progressive Congress Governorship candidate of Rivers state Dakuku Peterside, against governor Wike in the Court of Appeal in Rivers state, pertaining to the election which took place in April 11, 2015. These contributed to the sack of Mr. Wike who emerged victorious in the April 11 election.
Mr. Wike, later appealed against the judgement made by the Abuja tribunal. He went on saying that the Supreme court should have a sit in Rivers and not in Abuja.
The court of Appeal in Abuja, has ordered for a new run of election, which is to take place in Rivers State within 90 days. Mr Wike however, insists his legal team are working of further taking the case to the Supreme Court.
