Her lawyers claimed she was simply trying to make it in the Big City and can’t be held responsible for her shortcomings. They even quoted Sinatra’s song “New York, New York.”

The judge agreed that the girl was blinded by the city’s lights and glamour, but that was no excuse for the crimes she committed repeatedly and insistently.
