Fake Name, Real Fraud: The Story Behind the Fake Heiress Anna Delvey

The crime and the punishment

Sorokin, aka Delvey, was recently sentenced to 4-12 years in prison. On top of that, she was ordered to pay $199,000 in restitution to hotels, banks and different people whom she conned.

Although her sentence was expected, Sorokin’s defense attorney said she will pursue an appeal. She didn’t let prison break her, though, and considered it as a sociological experiment.
