The Craziest Stories in the News Right Now

November 20, 2022 by Alison Campbell

Learning about the news is good to keep updated, but we have to admit it can be pretty overwhelming and sometimes even boring to keep up with all of the current news in your local and regional area while also keeping an eye on any big world news that happens. So, why not get out of that loop for a minute and learn something unique or wacky going on instead? Here are some of the craziest and weirdest stories in the news right now all around the world.

Toad Lickers

National park visitors in the Sonoran desert have been licking toads to get high. Yep, you read that right. The park had to post on Facebook reminding people not to lick anything strange they find outdoors in nature, especially glowing toads. Why are people doing this? The toad in specific secretes a chemical that can cause hallucinations when ingested.

Yikes…KFC Screw Up

Germany and other Jewish holding countries as well as Jews all around the world had to mourn the anniversary of Kristallnacht, a night where many Nazi attacks were taken out on Jewish families back in the age of the Holocaust. The fast food chain Kentucky Fried Chicken used it to advertise their cheesy chicken, and had to quickly back down and apologize for insensitivity.

Too Much Beans

A 90 Day Fiance star from the show has been using some interesting methods to sell things that people want on the internet. You’ve heard of selling pictures of things like feet for cash, but this one star took it to a whole new level. She was selling her farts. To do so, she ate an insane amount of foods like beans to produce gas which has left her hospitalized of stomach damage.

Santa Claus?

Some archaeologists have discovered a new tomb, which is great news for any of you out there that love to learn about history and tomb digging. But what happens when these researchers suspect that this tomb actually belongs to the origination of the concept of Santa Claus, something kids still learn about all around the globe? We’ll have to wait and see.

Whale Chow

Off the coast of Massachusetts in the United States, a lobster fisherman dove into the water to try for a good catch. What happened was something nobody believed or expected to occur. He was eaten up by a humpback whale! The diver managed to escape this massive creature’s maw after almost a minute of struggling and was hospitalized with minor injuries.

While there are plenty of important things to keep updated on in your area, sometimes we just need that little bit of a pick-me-up in your mental state. Or maybe just a little bit of wondering why the heck people do the things they do sometimes. No matter your reasoning, these interesting and crazy news stories were definitely worth the pause of your scrolling to learn about today and we hope you enjoyed.
