Supreme Court Upholds Governor Darius Ishaku Election

February 11, 2016 by Kelly Davies Leave a Comment

The Supreme Court has upheld the result of the Taraba State Governorship election which held on April 11, 2015 which Governor Darius Ishaku, was declared winner.

The judgment delivered by Justice Bode Rhodes Vivour, says is of the affirm view that the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate Mrs Aisha Alhassan, contesting the election lacked merit and so therefore he dismissed the case. The apex court panel reserved its reasons for the judgement till February 22.

Governor Darius Ishaku is the current governor of Taraba State who was elected in the last year’s general election at the detriment of a female contestant,  Mrs Aisha Alhassan who was earlier declared winner before INEC overturn it for reelection.
