Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and the British royal family, in general, have all been quite the media and public spectacle for many years. Much of the life of Archie, Prince Harry, and Meghan’s son, has been kept under close attention from others when possible. That’s because this little family is very different from the rest of the royals and Harry and Meghan tend to stray from the norm in many practices. However, there’s some interesting information about Archie that can bring change to how Prince Harry and Meghan Markle want him to be raised or have raised him.

Archie is quite young currently, and his parents chose not to give him a title at birth and moved away from the U.K. However, Archie is in line to the British throne due to his birthright. This means that Archie will be considered a prince eventually, and it can alter how Prince Harry and Meghan aim to raise him. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle both have their own titles before having Archie and moving away from the United Kingdom, but they renounced being called Royal Highness and seem to have stepped away from that part of their lives for some time now. This brings another factor into the family for when Archie is considered a prince.
When Queen Elizabeth II’s son Charles takes charge of the throne, either when the Queen steps down or passes away, Archie will be considered a prince. When Archie turns 18, he will have the choice of whether he keeps that title and is considered “His Royal Highness”, but until then it wouldn’t be in his control. This is speculated to be a possible issue for the little family, due to Harry and Meghan’s pasts with the royal family and their roles as well as the implications of their moving and so on.

This position in line for the throne not only could cause problems within the little family, the entire royal family, and more; but can also have troublesome implications on Archie’s future. Being considered a title holder can mean that Archie will have to seek permission from whoever holds the throne when he gets that far in life, which would theoretically be someone like Prince Charles or Prince William judging from the timeline and who is in line for the throne. This could change who Archie is able to marry, how he acts, and even more.
Being a part of the royal family and in line for the throne can also place a burden we cannot know or decide on Archie, and it can mean that raising him could be complicated due to the rules that Archie has to follow when considered a Prince. Of course, there are even more factors and thoughts on this topic that can alter Archie’s experience, place in line for the throne, and much more.

Overall, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have much to consider and expect in time with Archie as he grows and as the royal family or throne changes. Being currently 7th in line for the throne can lead to many other effects down the road for both Harry’s little family and Archie himself. However, if more of the royal family in line before Archie and Harry’s places have children or more children; the two could be moved further away from the throne and make this topic less prevalent for the time being.
