The People’s Democratic Party has condemned the alleged harassment of some widows who had embarked on a solidarity match for President Goodluck Jonathan in Imo State earlier this month.
At a news briefing in Abuja, the Director of Media and Publicity PDP Presidential Campaign Organization, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, maintained that it was a violation of the fundamental rights of the widows.
The Minister of state for Education from Imo State, Mrs. Viola Onwuliri, cried out at the way the widows were manhandled.
The Women were said to be expressing their support for Presidential Goodluck Jonathan and Mrs Viola Onwuliri through a peaceful protest and were allegedly attacked by youths suspected to the supporters of the All Progressive Congress, APC last week.
