Nigerian Minister of Science and Technology, Doctor Ogbonnaya Onu, has again reiterated his commitments in support of made in Nigeria goods. The Minister said at the weekend that he will only use made in Nigeria vehicles as long as he retains his office in the present administration of change.
Already and in order to support his words by action, Doctor Onu has listed some indigenous motor manufacturers, Innoson Motors and PAN Nigeria as the only companies to provide his preferred vehicles.
The minister was quoted as saying that "the only way to encourage the local manufacturers is to patronize them" adding that this will also lead to reduction in the high rate of foreign goods consumption in the country.
Doctor Ogbonnaya Onu also assured Nigerians that the present administration is poised to turn things around in all areas of the economy but more especially in the ministry of science and technology sectors, were he said that the government is working hard to re position Nigeria and make it to compete favorably with other technologically advanced countries of the world.
All these the minister said when he was meeting with the members of the joint Union Negotiating Council, Federal Minister of Science & Technology Chapter in his office.
