The Nigerians National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, has denied that twenty billion dollars was missing in the recent forensic audit report submitted to the Federal Government.
The Group Managing Director of the Corporation, Mr. Joseph Dawha, stated this at a Press Conference in Abuja.
Mr. Dawha said the delay in the payment of the divested assets was due to the unfinished reconciliation process between the Corporation, Department of Petroleum Resources, DPR, and other government agencies.
The Group Managing Director said the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, has directed the NNPC to work closely with the Department of Petroleum Resources to settle the reconciled amount in the forensic audit reports.
Mr. Dawha noted that Power Water House Coopers reports has cleared the Corporation of not remitting the alleged twenty million dollars into government accounts as earlier stated.
The Group Managing Director said the forensic audit report acknowledged that section 7; sub-section 4 of the cooperation empowers it to settle its cost and expenses from oil revenues.
