President Goodluck Jonathan has assured Nigerians that his government will construct four Deep Sea ports when re elected.
The president gave the assurance at the palace of Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, when he visited the paramount ruler in Ijebu Ode.
The sea port projects are the Olokola Deep Sea Port in Ogun state, the Badagry Deep sea Port in lagos state, the Ibaka Deep sea Port in Akwa Ibom State and the Age Deep Sea Port Project in Bayelsa State.
According to the President, the four Deep Sea Port Projects will form the focal activities of government because of the need to expand port facilities as Lagos ports is over congested.
President Goodluck Jonathan was in Awujale’s palace to seek for blessings as he did in 2007 when he was running as the Vice President and 2011.
Dagbunrewe of Idowa, Oba Yinusa Adekoya who read the address of the Ijebu traditional council on behalf of the Awujale had said the Ijebu people are not happy with the abandoned Iwopin Paper mills project.
The Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adefona said churches and mosques in Ijebuland had been praying for their leaders and prayed for God’s guidance during the forthcoming elections.
