In a statement issued by the Police PRO, Olabisi Kolawole, the Nigerian Inspector General Of Police Solomon Arase has condoled the families of the policemen that died from the bomb explosion in Yola Police station on Thursday 25th of February 2016.
“Following the unfortunate incidence that occurred at a Police Divisional Headquarters, Yola, Adamawa State, on Thursday 25th February, 2016, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon E. Arase, fdc, NPM, commiserated with the families of those who lost their lives in the incident. He urged the citizens to remain calm as the Nigeria Police Force High Command has directed adequate security surveillance on places where Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) recovered and kept to ensure such incident does not occur in anywhere across the country.”
“The IGP has also directed all Commands’ Commissioners of Police to deploy Anti-Bomb Squad personnel of their respective State Commands to inspect all explosive elements kept in their armouries to ensure they are save, to forestall re-occurrence of the unfortunate incident.”
“He has equally directed the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Department of Operations, DIG Sontoye Wakama, to visit the scene of the blast in Adamawa State, to condole with the families of the deceased and to ensure that those that sustained injuries from the explosion receive prompt medical attention.”
IGP Arase called on the members of the public to go about their normal businesses without fear as all hands are on deck to ensure their safety at all times.
