As most of us know, Prince Philip passed away on April 9 at the age of 99. He was nearing his 100 birthday when the Palace officially announced that Philip had died peacefully the morning of April 9 in Windsor Castle. This came as a shock for many followers of the Royal Family as well as for his family, and many of us that follow the family felt quite sorrowful or even worried for how Queen Elizabeth II must be taking the news.

Naturally, anyone that knew the history or even some portion of the history that Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip had would feel similarly or at least wonder how she must be doing with this horrible news. After all, they had been married for over 70 years. Not much word has come from the Queen and from the Palace regarding Philip’s passing besides the original tweet from the Royal Family Twitter account memorializing and announcing Prince Philip’s death which was put out on the morning of April 9.
Earlier this year, Prince Philip had to undergo surgery for a heart condition he suffered from which he went to hospitals for a few times. However, the procedure was seemingly successful and this occurred around February of this year which meant it wouldn’t seem to coincide with his later passing this month. It truly seems to have just been his time, and it seems from what the Palace announced that Philip at least passed peacefully and in his own home.

As for word from Queen Elizabeth II, a former press secretary of hers spoke up to some interviewers that the Queen is likely using her life experiences and overall approach to most difficulties to serve her in handling her loss as calmly or steadily as she can. The former secretary said that this comes to the Queen from her overall temperament as well as experiences and has always served as her approach.
It’s unsure what will come next for the Royal Family and their ongoings at the moment as well as how the Queen is truly able to handle such a massive grief as losing Prince Philip, but it seems that we will all have to wait to hear more from the family or the Palace in due time. Prince Philip and Queen Elizabeth II had children together as we well know; who will also be able to carry on his memory into the future of the Royal Family.

Overall, we can only hope that Queen Elizabeth is doing alright through this process and will be able to take her calmness of other hardships towards this grief to help her get through it. We also hope that the rest of the family can process their loss as well, and for those of us that want to know more about the future ongoings of the Palace, it seems the only option is to wait and watch for any new developments in the news or official Palace announcements over the time following the tragic loss of Prince Philip that just occurred.
