This year has been a wreck for many individuals, businesses, and other pieces of society throughout the world due to the pandemic and other impacts from this occurrence. Many people have suffered in health, finances, and more, and countries or individual areas have all had to take measures to prevent the outbreak from becoming heavily dangerous or impactful.

This includes limitations on gatherings, social distancing practices, shut-downs of cities or states, travel bans, and much more. With these precautions, much of Hollywood and its industries have had to slow or even come to a complete standstill. Here’s some better information on how 2020 is affecting Hollywood to give you some insight.
Movies have taken a step back during the pandemic as many of us have noticed. Major motion pictures that were filming or planned to be filmed had to stop some production runs in different countries, completely shut down filming in the U.S., postpone release dates, and take other actions to follow guidelines put in place by the area of filming or showing.

This means that box offices in major areas like China or the United States will suffer a major hit over the year. Many movie theatres shut down altogether which made movies that were able to come out have to wait for showing. Overall, the film industry has and continues to suffer massive losses during 2020, but some movies have been able to restart filming and production work slowly.
Music artists and the music industry also struggled and continued to struggle this year. Tour plans were canceled completely, sometimes last minute, for various genres and artists. Since tours are carefully planned and booked, most of the ones that have been canceled haven’t had new dates determined yet because of the restart in having to plan everything all over again.
Smaller-scale concerts or other plans and events have had to shut down completely, cancel, or reschedule to different dates. Many concert venues lost their revenue sources greatly for the year or the majority of the year. It’s unsure when tours and concerts will be able to get back in session since there are still unknown factors on reopening or loosened restrictions.

Alongside these struggles, TV shows, performances, and more have also had to postpone or stop showing for periods to keep actors and crew safe as well as respect the guidelines put in place by their area. However, as the year has come closer to an end there have been some efforts made to find some sort of normalcy again for some projects.
Movies have slowly begun to trickle back out, cinemas were able to reopen in some areas, filming sets were reopened little by little for some television shows or movies, and so on. It’s not perfect or back to the original running of Hollywood. But it’s allowing actors, crews, and Hollywood’s major industries some slow beginning in finding income again and continuing to do what they do best.
Many corporations and speculating outsiders have estimated that Hollywood and its industries could lose over $1 billion during the year from the various struggles or stops that were needed as well as ongoing restrictions on their function. This can mean a massive shift in the productions coming shortly as well as income and costs for various projects, actors, workers, and more that are involved in Hollywood.
While knowing how the year has impacted this industry may seem pointless or uninteresting to many, it can be quite useful to understand. We consume products, movies, shows, and more from Hollywood productions a lot in our lives especially if you’re a movie fan, so it could have more of an impact on us than we realize.
