December 1, 2014 by Kelly Davies 1 Comment

News reaching us has it that gunmen had invaded Ekiti state prison killing three persons and had 20 sniffer dogs tied at the front gate.

According the report, all inmates were freed due to how sophisticated the weapons of the attackers were.

Reliable sources said the attackers numbering about 57 arrived in Hilux truks, brandishing all sorts of weapons while shooting sporadically into the air.

It was further learned the gunshots and and bombings were so deafening that even the inmates were confused for their lives. As it is now, the Minister of Interior, Com.Abba Moro, is on his way to ascertain the situation.

The journalists who visited the prison earlier were not allowed entry into the prison. Earlier on, the news filtering the air has it that it was the APC thugs that carried the attacks to free a leader of OPC Niyi Adedipe who was in the prison for murder of former chairman of National Union Of Road Transport Workers, chief Omolafe ADERIYE.

On this however, the APC did waste any time in describing it as another PDP ploy to tarnish their image.

We keep you glued to the situations as more details come.

God have mercy. I knw most of the inmates are
jst innocent. Our judiciary is too weak & the
rate at which pple are treated in prison custody
even when they are yet to be found guilty or are
still suspect is so alarming thats why we will
keep having #PRISONBREAK in this country.
If all this must stop, the government should
    rebuild this correctional centres, stop
maltreating this inmates be they guilty or not,
give them the right to education even in
detention, bring in motivational speaker to talk
to them, give them better re-orientation,
information that will re-vigourate, reform, &
sharpen their character for positive change in
the society. If this is done, i believe our society
would be violent free & conducive for better
    business that will create employment,
    empowerment, & development.. God bless
    Nigeria. Amen!
