Over 100 people died at a Gas Plant Station (LPG Gas Plant) in Nnewi, Anambra state, due to gas explosion. It was reported that the accident happened as a result of the carelessness on the part of the workers, due to the offload of trucks product. This resulted to the explosion, which happened at 11am, in the morning.
The customers who came to fill gas in the station got burnt to death. Reports has it that neighbors and people who were passing by also got burnt by the explosion. There were also casualties of over 30 cars and motor bikes which got burnt.
The bodies were rushed to NAUTH (Nnamdi Azikwe University Hospital) in Nnewi, Anambra state. Recently, president Buhari reacted to the incident by sharing his condolences to the lost and the bereaved. He said in his statement that his heart and prayers goes to the grieving families at a moment like this.
