Okorodafe Roundabout Ughelli, Delta State, witnessed a pathetic incident yesterday when a heavy truck conveying crates of soft drink crushed a four-month-old baby girl to death.
The unfortunate toddler was said to have fallen off the mother’s back from a moving commercial motorcycle, commonly known as Okada. According to the eyes witnesses, the mother of the baby, who is in her 30s and simply identified as Ese, was said to have been struggling to adjust the wrapper with which she strapped the baby to her back, while the Okada was in motion.
Another witness told the newsmen that the baby fell on the middle of the road and was immediately crushed by the truck, which was directly behind the Okada.
When the reporters visited the scene, officials of Ughelli Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, were seen clearing the remains of the dead baby from the road.

I wonder how she would explain this to her husband and cope with the sad experience after that. Some mistakes just lasts a life time, and I think this is one of such. Very pathetic indeed!

Oh! what a pity, it so pathetic that this baby died out of carelessness from the mother for not tying her wrapper well before climbing the bike. Trying to adjust the wrapper she used in strapping the baby on her back while on a moving bike is just too wrong.
