(Constative) LAGOS — The quest of finding alternative to gas consuming transport means has seen a major success in the U.K.
This week marked the debut of the U.K.’s first “poo bus,” which looks like a regular diesel commuter bus but runs solely on food and human waste.
Passengers will be shuttled between Bath and Bristol Airport, while making use of biomethane gas produced by sewage treatment plants.
The “Bio-Bus” carries 40 travelers and can travel nearly 200 miles on the waste produced by about five people, the Guardian reported.
Proponents say the renewable fuel produces fewer emissions than diesel. The company that produces the gas, GENeco, says it could power nearly 8,500 homes as well as fuel the Bio-Bus.
Gas-powered vehicles have an important role to play in improving air quality in UK cities, Mohammed Saddiq, general manager of GENeco, told the Guardian. “But the Bio-Bus goes further than that and is actually powered by people living in the local area, including quite possibly those on the bus itself.”
This is an invention that will go a long way to redefine waste management and environmental control. We look forward to when this bus will be available in Nigeria, especially in Lagos, replacing the regular BRT buses with Poo buses.
It surely going to provide a win win services for the general public who will have easily accessible and readily available public toilet in the mode of public transportation for free while providing free fueling for the buses in return.

Nice alternative for fuel, but it being in Nigeria omo it won’t work cause we know how to mismanage things handed to us, before you know it will become unhygienic for usage.
