FG declares December 25, 26 and January 1st public holiday

The Federal Government has declared Thursday December 25 and Friday 26, 2014 as Public Holidays to mark Christmas and Boxing Day Celebrations.

Federal Government made this known in a statement issued on Thursday by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Eng. Abubakar Magaji.

According to the statement, Thursday, January 1st, 2015 has also been declared as work-free day to mark the New Year.

The Minister of Interior, Comrade Patrick Abba Moro, also used the medium to urge all Christian faithful and Nigerians in general to extend the spiritual benefits of Christmas to their daily living and contribute to the development of the nation.

“Comrade Abba Moro further urged Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace and unity across the country,” the statement said.
The statement wished all Nigerians a happy Christmas and prosperous New Year celebrations.
