Many lives has been lost after gas a explosion rocks the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Calabar, Cross River State capital, branch office today. The number of casualties is yet to be ascertain.
The fire service men are already at the scene and they have succeeded to quench the fire so far. Family and friends were seen gathered at the gate to know whether their friends or family members working in the bank were among the dead.
The Acting Inspector General of Police, Zone 6, Calabar, Baba-Adisa Bolanta, who also inspected the scene, said the explosion was suspected to be from gas from the central air-conditioning unit.
