According to reports coming from London, the former Petroleum Minister for the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Diezani Alison Madueke is dead. She died yesterday afternoon at the London hospital where she has been receiving treatment for breast cancer.
However, unconfirmed reports indicate that a close family member has dismissed the report of her death as false saying “I am going to a crucial meeting with [retired Rear Admiral] Alison Amaechina Madueke, and I can tell you the former minister is not dead.”
He admitted however the family is having a meeting about her health condition and may fly her back to the country for spiritual intervention at the popular Lagos base Synagogue of all Nations.
It would be recalled that when Sahara Reporter reported her cancer ailment, she denied the report, only for her family lawyer, Oscar Onwudiwe, to admit after some months that she was being treated for cancer.
Details of this story is still emerging and we’ll keep you posted as time goes on.
Diezani Alison Madueke Before Now
Diezani Alison-Madueke was minister of Petroleum for Nigeria from 2010 to May 2015 during the President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, who was defeated by the current president, Muhammadu Buhari during the presidential election that took place in Nigeria earlier this year on March 10.
She was later arrested in London by the United Kingdom National Crime Agency (NCA) International Corruption Unit for money laundering and corruption charges which involves about £13billion. Although she was later released on possible health ground, the case is still ongoing until this moment when she is seriously believed to have died of breast cancer related illness.
We hope this is not true but if it is, this is indeed a sad moment for the family and the nation in general, and we pray for God to grant the family and the nation the fortitude to bear the loss and eternal rest for the deceased.
Diezani Alison Madueke was married to Rear Admiral Alison Madueke, who is a retired Naval officer in the Nigerian Navy and the former Military Governor of Anambra State.
Update: The Former Petroleum Minister of The Federal Republic of Nigeria, Diezani Alison-Madueke is still alive. However her status has reportedly deteriorated due the cancer she has been battling with. We pray for the divine healing to be upon you madam!
