At the heart of Gwalior is Gwalior Fort (shown in picture above), popularly called “the Gibraltar of India”, which overlooks the city. Gwalior is surrounded by industrial and commercial zones on three sides. The World Health Organization found Gwalior to be the second-most air-polluted city in the world and the most polluted city in India.
