For Danley Nwagbara 47 and Philip Ezeoke, 28, both residents of Amuwon Odofey in area in Lagos state, this is a day they may likely be dreaded of most because they are to appear before the court today as thieves for forgery of receipts with intention of stealing from their employer, the sum of N343,090
The two appeared before an Apapa Magistrates’ Court, Lagos. They are facing a three count-charge of conspiracy, forgery and stealing.
ASP Soji Ojaokomo, the Prosecutor, told the court that the accused, both employees of First View Luxury Hotel, Amuwo-Odofin, area in Lagos, forged the a reciept to steal the said amount.
The hotel belonged to one Mr.Emmanuel Ishola.
The prosecutor said the offenses contravened Section 285, 363 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Sections 285 and 363 each prescribes three years jail term for stealing and forgery.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Oluyemisi Adelaja, granted each of the accused bail in the such of N100,000 with one surety each in like sum and adjourned the case untill Jan.12, 2015 for trial.(NAN)
