Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,( NSCDC) Nasarawa State Command has arrested five persons for allegedly raping a fourteen year old girl in the State.
The State Commandant, Mr Andekin Amos Musa, who paraded the suspects before the newsmen in Lafia, the state capital, said the suspects were labourers working at a construction site in Doma Local Government market, while the girl was a sachet water seller in the same area.
Mr Musa gave the suspects' names as Wada Mohammed (37), Tanko Adamu (36), Abubakar Ogachi (40), Yusuf Ogar (35) and Samaila Ali (35) who would all be prosecuted after the investigation.
He explained that the victim was lured by the suspects on January 30 into an uncompleted building beside Doma market and raped her repeatedly.
One of the suspects, Samaila Ali, told newsmen that it was the handwork of the devil, saying it was not in his habit to rape women.
Father of the victim, Mallam Umar Mohammed, commended the NSCDC for the prompt intervention in arresting the suspects.
