Gunmen kill 10 people shortly after Christmas celebration

10 people killed and 5 others was injured as gunmen attacked some people in Tattaura village in Kaduna state on Saturday

It was reported that the gunmen started raiding at about 10:00.p.m local time on Saturday, killing more than ten persons and injuring about five others who were later rushed to Akwanga General Hospital in the neighboring Nasarawa state.

Security sources who declined being mentioned, said that the community usually organized dances amongst children, youths and the aged during the yuletide season in the area. The attack came shortly after the celebrations.

Local government chairman in charge of the Nasiru Harande area, who also confirmed the attack, described the incident as “unfortunate” and said the attackers fled to an unknown destination.

Mike Sanga, a community leader from the area, said the attack took place in a shop where some men were relaxing after a hectic dance.
