Court halt movement restriction during Lagos State monthly sanitation

A Federal High Court in Lagos State, has halt the restriction of movement during the monthly environmental sanitation exercise which takes place every last Saturday of the month.

Justice Mohammed described it as unlawful the restrictions of residents, saying that citizen’s has the right to personal liberty and freedom of movement protected by sections 35 and 41 of the Constitution.

He therefore voided the power of the Lagos State Government and its agent to arrest any citizen found moving between 7am & 10am during the monthly sanitation which holds every last Saturday of every month.
