Nigerian President Buhari, today presented a total sum of N6.08 trillion budget to the combine House of Senate. This is the first time in few years that a president will perform such a constitutional task on time. He stated the government intends to increase revenue, reduce overhead and deficit of GDP by 2015.
With the increase of the Capital expenditure, he said the government is putting the funds into various sectors such as the defence sector N134.6 billion, N200 billion for Intervention programs, N53.1 billion Interior sector and N433.3 billion Power, works and housing. Also, talked about the diversification of the Economy investing in Infrastructural development, Agriculture and training youths in various institutions.
He apologized to all Nigerians for the current fuel scarcity crises. He went on saying that the current fuel price will still remain at N87 per litres for now. The PPPRA (Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency) has been given direction to sell at N87 per litres to all marketers.
He spoke about the security and corruption challenges in Nigeria, saying the federal government will continually fight against corruption in in the Nation.
Conclusively, he called for the support of civil servants, the press and Organized groups to stand and serve the country and he stated budget is a step in delivering a new opportunity in Nigeria.
