Criticism and complaints over the poor distribution of Permanent Voters Card (PVC) in Lagos and some other States have propelled the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), to extend the exercise in seven states. Including nine Local Governments where the exercise did not cover.
The Chief Press Secretary to INEC Chairman, Mr Kayode Idowu, issued the statement in Abuja, saying the decision to extend registration and distribution of PVC was made after a meeting with leaders of 22 registered political parties in the country.
The Secretary explained that the distribution was stalled by some challenges, which the Electoral Body has devised means to contain.
States like Borno, Nasarawa, Rivers, Katsina, Niger and Lagos are all among the seven. He therefore unfold the plan of the distribution in Lagos, Rivers and Nasarawa States.
Friday November 28, to Sunday November 30, 2014, is dedicated to the distribution of Pvc, while CVR will run from December, 3 to December, 8 2014.
